Ultra-Cabin
While at the Design Center, I worked on a project designing the book cover for a poetry book, Ultra-Cabin. The book is a series of poems by Kimberly Lambright. As you read each poem, it opens the doors in a very abstract way to the intimate and sometimes dark moments of the storyteller’s life. I explored multiple ideas for this cover design: abstractness, personal growth, the door as you enter the personal moments of her life and the complex feminine experience. For my final design I leaned into the abstract theme—focusing on the shapes and negative space of the bike. The goal was to entice the reader—to wonder about the book cover’s symbolism— the way the author forces the reader to think of the meaning of each poem and the story’s bigger theme.

Below are other book cover ideas I explored.
